How To Be Led by The Holy Spirit

“Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  1 Corinthians 1:7 (NIV)

On May 12, 2018, I took my Lab, Taylor to the Vet. When the doctor was finished examining Taylor and had given her all her shots, I walked out of the exam room and over to the counter to pay. As I was standing there watching the lady total my bill, the Holy Spirit said to me, “Give her one of your cards”.

After I paid my bill, I handed her one of my cards (sample below).

She read it and then she very quickly, got up from her chair and walked out of the building. When I walked out the door to got to my car, I saw her a little ways off, in the parking lot, crying. When she noticed me leaving she began to yell, over and over again, “How did you know?”

I walked over to her and hugged her until she was able to compose herself and go back to work.

In the middle of June, 2019, the Holy Spirit said to me, “Begin to save money, now.” I told my husband what the Holy Spirit said, and we began to save all the money we could spare. A few months later, the engine in my husband’s car had to be replaced. He made a living in that car, he was a salesman, and he visited different companies, all day long. I knew this was going to be very expensive, and we had only saved $1,200.00. My husband began his search for a new engine. When he found the engine he wanted, it cost us $1,200.00, and this included installation. Praise God!

The very first thing you will need to know if you want to learn how to be led by the Holy Spirit is that you can develop a direct personal relationship with Him just like you already have with God and Jesus.

If the Holy Spirit is going to start to supernaturally communicate to you in a wide variety of ways, then the first thing you are going to want to do is to make direct personal contact with Him, since you are now going to be working very closely with Him, if you want to develop this part of your walk with the Lord.

Here are two very key verses from the apostle Paul telling us that we are allowed to have direct communication and direct fellowship with the Holy Spirit Himself:

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” (2 Corinthians 13:14)

“Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit …” (Philippians 2:1)

The two key words in these two verses are the words “communion” and “fellowship.” And both of these two key words are being tied in direct to the Holy Spirit Himself. In other words, the apostle Paul is telling us that we can have direct communion and direct fellowship with the Holy Spirit Himself.

Put those two key words together and they spell one thing – personal relationship. Not only can we develop a close personal relationship with both God the Father and Jesus Christ, but these two additional verses are telling us that we can also develop a close personal relationship direct with the Holy Spirit Himself.
