God’s Power is Made Perfect in Weakness

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

There is no safer place than the palm of God’s hand; with peace as our shelter, we rest in His plan. Though trials may try us we’ve learned what is true – with wisdom and grace He will carry us through. – Author Unknown

The difficulties that I faced before and after I became a Christian, always caused growth in my life. Some examples are: 1) My sins affected the quality of my life: therefore, I repented and turned away from them; 2) Adversities strengthened me; 3) My illnesses taught me compassion; 4) Abandonment, due to my faith, softened my heart; 5) Being saved (by God’s grace) from impending death, taught me humility and the fear of God.

In church, years ago, a visiting minister was preaching. When he finished his sermon, he looked out into the audience and his eyes fell upon me. He asked me to stand up. When I stood up, he said to me, “God has made you strong for a reason, He has speared your life for His purpose, He is going to guide you in a most unusual way, and God is going to bless you, abundantly.”

God speared my life, when unknown to me, I had a tubal pregnancy. When I went to the emergency room (only because my neighbor insisted) The emergency room doctor did some tests and I went right into surgery. When I saw the doctor, the next morning, He told me, “If you had not come to the Emergency Room last night, you would have been dead this morning.”

Psalm 136:1-3 (NKJV)

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Oh, give thanks to the God of gods! For His mercy endures forever. Oh, give thanks to the Lord of lords! For His mercy endures forever:”
Several days before I went to the Emergency Room, I went to see a doctor, because I was in pain. I told him I was pregnant. All he did for me was write a prescription for pain pills. A few days later, my neighbor, Carol, came over to check on me. I wasn’t in any pain because of the pain pills. She said, “Go to the hospital”. I didn’t want to, because at that time in my life, I didn’t have health insurance, and I didn’t want to drive from Houston to Galveston to go John Sealy Hospital, for free medical treatment. Carol eventually, talked me into it. Thank goodness!!

How to Avoid Discouragement

– Always pray, believe God’s Word, and Obey God’s Word –

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 (NIV)

The strength God blessed me with, my prayers and the prayers of others for me, along with the peace I had in believing that no matter what circumstances I encountered, God is faithful, God is good, God will keep me, *God will provide for me, and God will bless me. I looked past the circumstances to God, and I believed He works all things for my good and for His glory. Now, I must tell you this. *The Holy Spirit told me three years ago, that the one of the worst mistakes I have made since becoming a Christian was not allowing God to meet my financial needs. Instead, I took things into my own hands, and in doing so, I suffered financial loss. I now wait for God, to show me how to handle things and to meet my needs, and sometimes, it’s hard to believe my eyes.

In Hopeless Situations

“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26 (NIV)

In seemingly hopeless situations, where we can’t see any way out, and in those times when we come to the end of ourselves, where we know we can’t depend on our own abilities, on anything we have, or anyone we know, but instead are reminded that we are totally and completely reliant on God, it is then His power has the opportunity to shine the greatest.

When Does God Display His Power?

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)

When we are weak, God shows Himself strong in our lives.

God displays His power when He alone gets the glory.

Asking God to keep you in His care,
