The Comfort Childlike Faith Has to Offer

We all could use comforting during these very frightful, sad and very uncertain times. I have found that seeing my Heavenly Father, as a child sees his or her earthly parents is especially, comforting to me.

When you look to your Heavenly Father through the eyes of a child, you know that He loves you, and that He only wants the very best for you, to protect you, and to supply all of your needs, just as your earthly father did. It’s comforting to know that if we get sick, our Heavenly Father, will be beside us to comfort us, and to help us through the healing process, just as our parents did.

The key to having Childlike Faith is TRUST.

Children trust their parents to provide for their every need, and they feel comfort and safety in their presence. Even if children are frustrated or confused by their parents, so long as the parents show them love, the children will trust them deeply and take pleasure in their presence.

God showed His love for us when He sent His only son, Jesus, to the cross to be the atonement  for our sins. God shows His love for His children in so many different ways, every day. If I tried to make a list of the ways God shows His love for us, the list would be unending.

God wants us to deeply trust Him and take pleasure in His presence. God watches over us night and day, and every hair on our heads are numbered.

“And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.”  Luke 12:7 (NLT)

The Lord directs the steps of the godly.

For the last 21 days, I have only left my house to walk my dog at 9:00 p.m. (when no one is outside), and to drive 3 blocks, to sign our tax return, which my husband handed to me through my car window.

Yesterday, April 6, 2020, I had a doctor’s appointment. The Lord knew I was a little afraid to go out in public, because I have a COPD (a chronic lung disease) and I also have Diabetes.

Nevertheless, I got ready for my doctor’s appointment, while watching the clock, and taking my time, to make sure that I left my house much later than I usually do. The traffic would be much lighter, and I would only have to spend a minimal amount of time waiting to see the doctor. My appointment was at 9:30 a.m.

When I arrived at the doctor’s office, the receptionist and bookkeeper weren’t in yet, and I thought to myself, “That’s strange!” Luckily, my doctor was upfront behind the receptionist’s desk doing something, and when he saw me, he unlocked the door to let me in. He said to me, “Your early!” I said, “No I’m not, it’s about 9:20 a.m.” He said, “No it’s not, it’s 8:40 a.m.” I was shocked, because all of my clocks at home, and the clock in my car showed the correct time. My doctor said, “That’s okay, I have an opening at 9:00 a.m., go back to my office.”

I was out of the doctor’s office by 9:30 a.m., and on my way to Walgreens to get a prescription filled, and to pick up a few items. I was on my way home by 10:00 a.m., instead of 11:00 a.m.

I can’t explain how something I tried to plan so carefully, went awry, but….I didn’t come in contact with anybody but the medical staff, at the doctor’s office. Walgreens was quiet when I arrived, and there wasn’t anyone in line at the pharmacy.

Later that night, I realized that it could have been God, redirecting my steps, to which I was totally, oblivious.

“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” Psalms 37:23 (NLT)

“And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:2-4 (ESV)

Having watched my children grow up and become self-sufficient, it is easy to forget how dependent they were when they were younger. This truth is one reason why grandchildren are so much fun!

You get to relive watching a baby that needs everything to survive become a walking, talking little person; and then eventually become an adult. It still amazes me to see my oldest grandson say his ABCs and interact with others realizing that not too many years ago he was a “helpless” newborn.

When I read the verses above I am reminded that as a mature adult, from a worldly perspective, I am pretty much self-sufficient.

I have enough money to get almost anything I want—definitely anything I need. I still have my health. I have a wonderful wife and family. The key word in the first sentence of this paragraph is “worldly.”

The reality is that God is my provider, Jesus is the reason I am acceptable to God.

“he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him,” Colossians 1:22 (ESV)

I am not worthy of God, I am not really self-sufficient without him. I am dependent on God for everything just as my grandson is dependent on his parents for survival.

“He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:32 (ESV)

As an adult I can become too self-sufficient and have too big an ego. I pray that God will help me to focus on him in a childlike way, realizing I am dependent on him for everything that matters.

I Prayed for a Miracle and God Sent a Vision of an Angel

I was on my way to work, stopping as I usually do, at a nearby parking lot, to read my Bible and pray. I was desperate and in dire need of help, so I asked God “Boldly” for a miracle, concerning my situation.

That same day, at lunch time, I went to get my nails done. While the lady was doing my nails, I closed my eyes, leaned back in my chair, and I had a vision. It was like being in a movie theater. I saw a large ball, it was what seemed like glittering, multicolored, grains of sand,(made up of every color under the Sun). The sand was moving slowly, inside the ball. After I realized what I was seeing, I said to myself, “I do not have an imagination like this!” After I thought that, the ball turned into a star. It too, was filled with grains of glittering, multicolored, sand, (made up of every color under the Sun). The sand was moving slowly, inside the star. Once I realized what I was seeing, an Angel burst out of the star, wearing light blue and dark blue garments, and The Angel had blond hair.

I was astounded, and at the same time, enthralled, to say the least, with the Angel’s smile. It was so lovely, full of love and compassion. There are no other words I can use to describe the Angel’s smile, because I have never seen a smile like that in my entire life, not even on TV. The Angel was looking right into my eyes. Stunned, I opened my eyes, and when I did, I saw the outline of a very large Angel, which was leaving my left side. God answered my prayer through a vision. After what I saw, I had no doubt in my mind that everything would work out for me. It has, indeed! Thank you, Jesus for comforting me in such an amazing way.

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:” Acts 2:17 (KJV)

Angels are ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation.” Hebrews 1:14 (NIV)

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its savor, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.” Matthew 5:13 (NIV)

“Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 (NIV)

How My Heaveny Father Comforted Me

I was on my way to work, stopping as usual, in a nearby parking lot to read my Bible and pray. I was desperate and in need of help, so I prayed asked God for a miracle.

That same day, at lunch time, I went to get my nails done. While the lady was doing my nails, I closed my eyes, leaned back in my chair and I had a vision. It was like being in a movie theater. I saw a large ball, it was beautiful!  It consisted of glistening  grains  of multicolored sand moving slowly, around inside the ball.

When what I realized what I was seeing, I thought to myself, “I DO NOT HAVE THIS KIND OF IMAGINATION!”  Seconds, after I had that thought, the ball turned into a star, and just like the ball, it consisted of  glistening  multicolored  grains of sand, moving slowly, around inside the star. As I was looking at the star, suddenly, out of the star burst an Angel, wearing light blue and dark blue garments, and she had short blond hair. I was astonished!! The Angel looked right into my eyes and she was smiling at me. Her smile radiated love and compassion, and believe me, that’s an understatement.  I have never seen a smile like that in my entire life. Shaken, I opened my eyes, and shut them, but the Angel was gone.

God did not take away my distressed circumstances; but He gave me an amazing gift, that I will never forget: the FAITH to go on, when I felt like giving up.

Hebrews 1:14 (KJV) “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”
