“The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my savior; thou saved me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” 2 Samuel 22:3-4
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. My husband, son and I were sleeping, and the phone rang. My husband was a Locksmith, and it was a call to go and unlock someone’s car. My son, Jeremy and I got out of bed to wait for his return.
While waiting, I left the room to go to into bathroom, and suddenly, I felt an quickening in my spirit. The thought came to me, “Go quickly down the Hall, there will be a knock at your door, and your son will answer it.” I ran down that hall, and no sooner than I got to the living room, there came a knock at my door. I went to the door, and said “Who is it?” and there was no answer. I looked through the peep hole in the door, and there was someone standing there wearing a black hoodie with his head down. All of a sudden, the door knob began to turn. I stayed by the door, and told my son to get our gun. After Jeremy gave me the gun, I told him to call the Police. When he had them on the phone, I took the phone, and explained the situation to them. The Police told me to shoot, if that man come through the door, and they were on their way. They arrived about 20 minutes later but, he was gone. Shortly, thereafter, my husband returned.
One of the things my Pastor taught me was the importance of listening to God’s Voice, and acting upon what He says to do.
I want you to be assured, God keeps his Word, and protects His children!
May the PEACE of GOD be with you; May His LOVE overshadow you; May His HOPE fill your heart; And may His JOY be full in your soul.
“He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.” I Samuel 2:9
I will be forever grateful for God’s protection on that awful night!
In God’s Love and † Grace, Susan Osten
