The Book of Numbers takes the reader on a long journey through a Desert of failed tests, endurance, ethics, good judgment, and faith.
Numbers shows how God wanted to make the Hebrews strong, but they were resistant complainers. Hence, in Numbers 14 is where God gave the sentence that they would wander for 40 years.
“Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft and stubbornness as bad as worshipping idols…” I Samuel 15:23
Witches, fortune tellers, members of the satanic or black-magic cults, mediums and psychic mediums, tarot card readers, and those involved in Astrology, Horoscopes, and the Zodiac: it is sin!
Unfortunately, many Christians are involved in seeking the dead on behalf of the living: someone writes your daily Horoscope! Some people cannot make it through the day without reading their Horoscopes, so they can find out what the future holds for them, how their mood will be affected, what’s going to happen in their love life, and etc. They’re not true! You’re not an Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, or Pisces. You are a child of God!
“Christ’s ethical standards are a protest against our natural inclinations: turn the other cheek, love your enemies, pray for those who abuse you.
Strange as these admonitions seem, they reflect the gracious nature of God who makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good and rain to fall on the just and the unjust.
Finally, Christianity undermines not only our ethics but also our egos.
When confronted with guilt, we instinctively make excuses, blame others and attempt to justify ourselves in order to appear acceptable.
To take responsibility and acknowledge our guilt shatters whatever self-esteem we have.
But we can confess our wrongs when we know we have a savior who forgives us, and whatever self-esteem we’ve lost is replaced by Christ-esteem.
Our only boast is in the cross of Jesus, for every Bible-believing Christian needs God’s forgiveness as much if not more than anyone else.” (In Biblical Christianity, tradition has become rebellion, the republic.com, by Staff Writers)
“Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:15-17
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2
God is going to TEST us, and He is going to CORRECT us, just as He did the Hebrews, because:
“Jesus Christ (God) never changes! He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrew 13:8
He wants to strengthen us, and develop the fruits of the Holy Spirit, which we received, when we believed. During the difficulties and trials that come into our lives, as we patiently, endure and wait upon the Lord, we are being changed: day by day, month by month, and year by year, into the image of Jesus Christ.
“For the LORD corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.” Proverbs 3:12
God will move us out of our comfort zone and test us: it will not be a cake walk. Other times, we put ourselves in very dangerous and unpredictable circumstances, because of peer pressure or because of a lack of common sense.
During the times of seemingly, never ending difficulties, trials and divine correction, you’ll be tempted to be stubborn, rebellious, disobedient and proud. Previously, we read in God’s Word, that acting in this manner towards Him, is the same as committing the sin of witchcraft and idolatry.
We all sin; but when we become aware of our sin, it is a Christian’s responsibility, to walk away from it. We do not want to be a stumbling block to others.
“If ANYONE causes one of these little ones-those who believe in me-to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Matthew 18:6
“Little Ones” refers to your Christian brothers and sisters.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” Romans 8:1-9
Dear, unbeliever, “HELL IS NOT FAIRY TALE!” Please, don’t make God, prove it! You have no idea what is instore for those who reject, Jesus Christ.
To those of you who sacrifice newborns, or hurt or kill children, you are cursed, men and women: meaning, here on earth, God has cursed you, and you are walking around on this earth, spiritual blind. Hell awaits you!
With that said, God, at this very moment, is giving you the chance to repent of your evil deeds. It’s your choice: Hell for eternity or Life for eternity.
